Thankful Thursday!

Today I writing about some of the things I am thankful for!  Not all, because they are far too many.

1st ~ I am thankful that after a harsh cold I am starting to feel better.  I pray I continue to and don’t fall backwards.

2nd ~ I am grateful for my daughter and her love for horses.  We got to spend the whole weekend at a horse show allowing her to experience something she has been hoping to do for a very long time!  What a pure blessing!  She received a 2nd, 3rd and 4th place ribbon for her efforts!  Way to go Muppin!

My beautiful girl getting ready for her Showmanship class!

Rico is the horse my daughter is blessed to be able to use. What a beautiful boy he is and how good he is to her too! She loves him dearly!

Even when his tail was frustrating him he is a good boy and Muppin kept her calm and made sure she let him know it was all ok. They are a great team.

3rd ~ I am grateful that it is the first day of spring!!!!  It hasn’t been a harsh winter for us, but I am ready for all the beauty spring has for us… it is already starting in my back yard!

Thankful Thursday! Happy 4th!

We often forget so much of what has brought us our freedoms.  Today I am thankful for all those that brought us the freedoms we have today.  We are not a perfect country by no means.  We have made many terrible choices and continue to do so.  But, I believe that above all, we are truly a magnificent country.  Here is an old hymn that I believe we need to revisit.  What are you thankful for today?

“Battle Hymn Of The Republic”

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.

CHORUS
Glory, glory! Hallelujah!
Glory, glory! Hallelujah!
Glory, glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watchfires of a hundred circling camps;
They have building Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps;
His day is marching on.

CHORUS
Glory, glory! Hallelujah!
Glory, glory! Hallelujah!
Glory, glory! Hallelujah!
His day is marching on.

I have read a fiery gospel, writ in burnished rows of steel;
“As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal;
Let the hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel,
Since God is marching on.”

CHORUS
Glory, glory! Hallelujah!
Glory, glory! Hallelujah!
Glory, glory! Hallelujah!
Since God is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgement seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.

CHORUS
Glory, glory! Hallelujah!
Glory, glory! Hallelujah!
Glory, glory! Hallelujah!
Since God is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies, Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me;
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
While God is marching on.

CHORUS
Glory, glory! Hallelujah!
Glory, glory! Hallelujah!
Glory, glory! Hallelujah!
While God is marching on.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday!

It is Thankful Thursday time and since I have been so busy the last month that I have hardly had a chance to share I am here to say I am thankful for being here!  🙂

There is so much to be thankful for, even for busy schedules sometimes.  But as I think on my life, what is in it and who is in it, what I am truly thankful for is my family.  They are a true gift from God and I am 100% blown away by how amazing it is to have them in my life!

This man is the most amazing man I know. He is my best friend, lover and God given gift. He is an incredible dad and husband. I am so proud of the man he is and the man he is becoming. I am so very thankful for him!

Here is my man with my Muppin… another wonderful thing I am thankful for! If you can’t tell what they are doing in the center… He is throwing gold fish into the air and she is catching them. Such a wonderful day!

I am also thankful for my daughter’s amazing imagination! She builds amazing things out of whatever she finds, and has so much fun doing it. Creativity is a true gift from God as He is the ultimate creator!

What are you thankful for?  I would love to have you join me and shout out what God has done in your life that you are truly thankful for.  There is so much that we take for granted.. Don’t!!! 🙂

Thankful Thursday!

It is Thankful Thursday again and I love this day.  I do a lot of thinking on what I need to fix about myself and my surroundings and life in general and sometimes being thankful just isn’t in the mix.  And that can get depressing.  But you know, I have so much to be thankful for that I should be doing it on a daily regular basis.

Michelle over at Divas With A Purpose has decided to do just that for Thankful Thursdays!  She is going to list what she is thankful for one day at a time… one each day this week.  I think that is a wonderful idea so I will be doing the same thing.  I will add something I am thankful for each and every day this week so don’t forget to check back to see the rest of the list!

Day 1-  I am thankful for the beautiful sunshine that we have had all this week.  If you know anything about Western Washington, you know this time of year can be very rainy, grey and wet!  The sunshine has been love for my soul.

Day 2-  I am thankful that I can work out again and get back to being healthy.  God is good even through the pain 😉

Day 3-  I am thankful for my church and the leadership we have.  My pastor, Jon Cobler, is an amazing man of God and I am grateful to him for listening to God when preparing to teach us.  This week he had a plan and notes and on Saturday morning God said, “But I want to say this!”  And our pastor listened.  Because of that I am now paying attention to my belief in something very simple…. I believe God can… but do I believe God will?  It is important for us to believe God desires to and will do what He said He will do!  Just food for thought for you!

Day 4-  I am grateful for my mother and father-in-love.  They are truly great people and care for us very much.  I love seeing my daughters eyes light up when they are around.  It was wonderful spending time with them today.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday!

This week has been filled with tragedy.  Both Boston and West, TX have been hit with explosions that have claimed lives and have struck fear into the hearts of all those affected.  In times like these it is difficult to find anything to be thankful for, but I am blessed to have so many.

1.  My family is alive and safe at this very moment and if something happens I know God will be holding me and taking care of me.

2.  My God is strong, powerful and ever present and will never leave or forsake me.  Jesus’ blood has covered my sin and insures that I will live with Him in eternity and because He died I have been blessed with the ever-present and powerful Holy Spirit as He dwells within me guiding and comforting me all the days of my life.

3.  I have all the food I need, a place to live (though not large and glorious like many, it is perfect for us), access to health care and the freedom to love my family and my God how I choose.

4.  I can write what I think, what I believe and share those things with the world and not be persecuted in the same way that happens in many other countries.

5.  I get to love all of you, have compassion for you and pray for you all.  I am truly blessed.

Please know that no matter what happens, God loves you… and He always will.

What do you have to be thankful for today?

Thankful Thursday!

A friend of mine, Michelle, over at Divas With A Purpose has started up her Thankful Thurdsay’s again so here I am to share with you what I am thankful for!  If you get a chance, check out her blog, she is amazing!

So, what am I thankful for?  Many things really 🙂

  1. For the most amazing God and His love He has for me regardless of how bad I am or how many messes I make.  He is always there to pick me up and help me move in the right direction!
  2. For my amazing husband Mark, who loves me through all my issues and always stands by me no matter what… who provides so well for our family and who makes me laugh like no one else!
  3. For my beautiful daughter, the most special gift given to us.  She is pure joy and I love her so much.  She teaches me to have joy every single day.
  4. For my church and the ladies that I love there.  More gifts from God.
  5. And finally, for the ability to write, how boring would life be without writing!

God is so good.  And I have so much to be thankful for.  What do you have to be thankful for?
